The Creative En-trees contest is open to all Grade 1 students in Edmonton.
No purchase is necessary to enter the Creative En-trees contest.
Submissions must be made by the legal guardian, parent or teacher of the Grade 1 student(s). There is a limit of one submission (up to 10 files per submission) per household or classroom, and it must be received during the contest period to be eligible for the prize draw.
The entry must be self-made and should be connected to or resemble trees. Please include a brief section about why trees are important to you.
A maximum of 20 prizes will be given. Each prize will consist of a book and tree cookie(s). Photos of the top 20 submissions will be posted on the Arbor Day: Creative En-trees web page, as well as on the City of Edmonton and YEG Parks social media pages.
Submissions may originate in any image or portable format (PDF, JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, TIF) including, but not limited to digital files, digital prints, and colour prints, so long as they are submitted electronically. PDF, JPG and PNG file types are recommended.
Any images submitted must be original and belong to the Grade 1 student(s) whose parent, legal guardian or teacher is submitting the photo on their behalf, and the parent, legal guardian or teacher has the right to authorize use and publication of the image(s).
In order to protect personal privacy, please do not include images of people in your photos. Images with identifiable people will be disqualified from this contest.
All submissions should accurately reflect the subject matter as it appeared.
Online submissions open on Monday, May 3, 2021. The deadline for submitting nominations is 12pm (noon) MST, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Finalists will be announced in May 2021 on the City of Edmonton and YEG Parks social media pages.
The City of Edmonton reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.
Photos of the top 20 submissions will be posted on the main City of Edmonton Creative En-trees website, as well as on the City of Edmonton and YEG Parks social media pages.
Finalists submissions may be used in future Arbor Day promotions.
Please Note: The City of Edmonton reserves the non-exclusive rights to use any of the Creative En-trees submission content submitted for future internal or external communications, advertising, reports, marketing, and online or print commercial applications for future promotions associated with Arbor Day. By submitting an entry in the Creative En-trees Contest, you hereby expressly grant such non-exclusive right to the City of Edmonton and consent to use of your Creative En-trees submission in the manner set out above.
The City of Edmonton is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any contest-related materials, or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries.
The City of Edmonton is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the photo contest, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions to the photo contest.
If, for any reason, the photo contest is not capable of completion as planned, including but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the City of Edmonton that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the photo contest, the City of Edmonton reserves the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the photo contest.
Personal information is collected for the purpose of the Arbor Day: Creative En-Trees Contest and will be used to administer the contest. Collection is authorized under section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act and is managed and protected in accordance with the Act.
