Hello, How Are You is a campaign that encompasses:

  • The Council Initiative on Urban Isolation and Mental Health
  • The Council Initiative on Seniors

Hello, How Are You? encourages Edmontonians to get connected to their communities to help prevent social isolation. Isolation can have a negative effect on mental health and is increasingly impacting our senior population in Edmonton. Increasing awareness and understanding around senior loneliness is a part of the Senior City Council Initiative.

Council Initiatives

Increasing socially connectivity and a sense of belonging in our communities creates a healthier and friendlier Edmonton.
Loneliness and isolation are overlooked problems for those already dealing with mental and physical challenges as they age.

Current Projects

Hello, Let’s Eat! is a project with the goal of bringing neighbours together over the act of sharing food.

The City of Edmonton has several resources available to individuals who are seeking help or looking for someone to talk to.
