Face masks on transit and in transit spaces are no longer required in Edmonton. The City’s Temporary Transit Facilities Face Mask Bylaw, which aligned with the mandatory mask requirements put in place by the Government of Alberta, lifted when the Chief Medical Officer for health rescinded their Public Health Orders.
The City of Edmonton is committed to the safety of our employees and all Edmontonians. A robust safety system is in place to prevent, track, report and monitor active COVID-19 cases among City staff.
The information in the chart below is aggregated to respect the privacy of our employees. The blue data points indicate the City’s approximate active COVID-19 cases*, and the orange data points indicate the approximate percentage of active cases in the City workforce. Information will be updated each Wednesday at 2pm.
Please hover your mouse over the data points to see approximate number values.
*Active cases are those that are within five days from the onset of symptoms if fully vaccinated or 10 days if not fully vaccinated.
The option remains for visitors to reserve a time to visit the Edmonton Valley Zoo or the Muttart Conservatory. Time slots for these facilities can be reserved at Move Learn Play. Timed entry remains optional for the John Janzen Nature Centre.
What Can You Do?
There are steps you can take as we work together to ensure our facilities are safe spaces for everyone wishing to return to the activities they enjoy:
Continue to be kind to each other through this period of transition
Get a first, second and third/booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine
Stay home when you are ill and check your symptoms daily
Wear a mask to protect yourself and those around you
Wash your hands regularly
Service Counter - by appointment only
To ensure the safety of City employees and Edmontonians, we are taking a very thoughtful and deliberate approach to providing in-person service at the Edmonton Service Centre.
