Our "THANKS" campaign takes a different spin on educating customers about etiquette. Rather than giving riders a long list of ‘do not’ behaviours, this campaign takes the approach of positive reinforcement by thanking riders for demonstrating respectful behaviours. For example, simple ads thank riders for “keeping the volume down” or “not blocking the doors.”
By saying ‘thanks’ we not only acknowledge those who are already conscientious about their actions, we educate those who may not be aware of our expectations. The ads will reinforce the fact that courteous behaviours are expected on ETS and appreciated by all who share the ride.
This is a long term campaign, with different ‘thank you’ messages planned to roll out over the course of the coming year. While the ads are the backbone, there are other elements to this campaign in the works as well.
From February 18 through March 10, 2016, the ETS Street Team was out at various transit centres for a series of ‘Thanks Thursdays' events. They handed out promotional materials and set up an interactive photo booth to set the stage for the conversation about etiquette.
