Royal Alberta Museum Moves to Edmonton’s Downtown

April 07, 2011

Edmonton’s structural and cultural landscape downtown is becoming even more engaging and exciting. Premier Ed Stelmach, along with Mayor Stephen Mandel, has announced the relocation of the Royal Alberta Museum to Edmonton’s downtown arts district.

To be located on the northwest corner of 103A Avenue and 99 Street, the new museum will include 36,000 square metres of gallery space, an interactive children’s pavilion and a gallery for international exhibitions. It is expected to cost a total of $340 million and is projected to open by 2016.
