Community Wellness Services Plan Public Engagement

The City is seeking the views of Edmontonians to advise on the importance, opportunities and concerns regarding 2 components of the Community Wellness Services Model:

  • Enhancing frontline services
  • Refining the criteria needed to select a potential place for a Community Wellness Services Centre for vulnerable people with complex needs

Engagement Process

Overview

The engagement will ask Edmontonians to advise the City on their perspectives about the concepts in the Community Wellness Services Plan. This initial engagement opportunity will be completed by October 6, 2017 with further engagement planning underway for 2018.   

Timeline

  • A city-wide telephone survey (September 2017)
  • Focus groups (September 2017)
  • Small discussion groups (September 2017)
  • Interviews with community stakeholders (September 2017)
  • What We Heard Report Back (October 2017)
  • Engagement Recommendations to Council (November 2017)
  • Submission of Business Case (inclusive of Engagement findings) to the Government of Alberta  (November/December 2017)
  • Further Engagement Planning (2018 and onward)
