The Quarters Downtown Team, CITYlab, and fresh: Edmonton’s Food and Urban Agriculture Strategy are collaborating this summer to create a pop-up neighbourhood garden in the Quarters, and to offer a series of free, public workshops on gardening and food in the neighbourhood! The garden was installed on June 3, 2106 as a project for 100in1Day and will be in place until the fall of 2016.
Come visit the garden at 102 Avenue and 96 Street, and enjoy the flowers and vegetables! We have a rain barrel on site, if you would like to help water!
Every two weeks beginning on July 28th, we will be offering free garden workshops in the neighbourhood. All are welcome to attend.
Workshops will meet at the Boyle Street Plaza, and weather-permitting, we will visit the garden.

This garden is an opportunity to pilot ways to temporarily beautify vacant, City-owned lots, as well as demonstrate different ways to garden with low-cost, temporary, recycled or reused materials. Neighbourhood organizations and individuals are invited to participate in the garden! We hope that the garden and workshops inspire conversation about food in the City, and conversations among the diverse people and communities who share space in the Quarters neighbourhood.
