Development, upgrades and improvements to Edmonton public transportation.

Edmontonians will begin to see more development, upgrades and improvements to Edmonton public transportation beginning in May, 2017 thanks to the Public Transit Infrastructure Fund (PTIF).

This fund holds approximately $300 million and is made of contributions from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and the City of Edmonton. It has allowed the City of Edmonton to put forward 46 infrastructure projects across Edmonton to improve the user experience when using Edmonton Transit Services and LRT.

Transit Centre Improvements

The Belvedere Transit Centre (6120-129 Avenue) is a heated building on the east side of the bus lanes, where transit riders wait for the bus. The existing building will be demolished and a new building will be constructed in the same area. The existing building will be replaced with a new, larger building with improved amenities and viewing area.
