"Food resilience" means being able, at all times, to acquire safe, nutritionally adequate and personally and culturally acceptable foods, produced in ways that are environmental sound and socially just.

Although our food supply is currently secure, risks associated with climate disruptions, international food policies and higher priced fossil fuels could reduce our access to global food systems.

In addition to fresh, Edmonton's Food and Urban Agriculture Strategy, we are working on helping Edmontonians reduce food waste and a strategy to help mitigate the risk to our food supply in case of droughts.
