The Network Integration section translates plans and policies into capital projects that become the backbone of our communities such as the streets, pipes, and parks. This work is essential to building a city that functions effectively allowing citizens to live, work, and play in a variety of spaces and places.
The Planning Coordination section provides integrated policy implementation through a decision assembly process using land development applications and inter-municipal referrals. The section translates policies and plans into the built form of our communities.
The Policy Development section creates overarching, integrated, plans and guidelines for transportation, drainage, open space and land use from a regional scale to an individual site. This work shapes our core priorities on complete streets, historic resource management, urban design, nodes and corridors, open space, wildlife protection and more.
The Subdivision and Development Coordination section coordinates the development of land into subdivided and serviced lots, and Servicing Agreements that provide for the construction of municipal infrastructure, such as water mains, storm and sanitary sewers, roads, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, power, and more.
The Urban Analysis section provides the corporation with decision context by bringing both a broad and a specific understanding of the strategic context for objective, evidence-based decision and policy making.
Urban Analysis creates visualizations that help to identify trends and answer questions about how Edmonton is growing and evolving.
