Taste of Edmonton has been able to grow into the largest outdoor food festival in Canada.

This year, due to the LRT construction taking place in Sir Winston Churchill Square, Taste of Edmonton is moving to a temporary location on the Alberta Legislature grounds.

Taste of Edmonton has exemplified the spirit of summer in Edmonton for the past 33 years. This year’s festival will have more than 40 new dishes to tease your taste buds. Enjoy live entertainment during the weekday lunch hours and each evening.

Getting There

Shuttle Service

Not sure where to park to get to the new festival site? Pay to park at the MacEwan City Centre Campus West Parkade (University Services Centre) west of 109 Street, just off of 105 Avenue and take the free shuttle, courtesy of Yellow Cab.

  • Parking rates: 
    $5 each 1/2 hour or less from 6am-6pm ($15 daytime maximum)
    $12 evenings (6pm-6am)
    Payment: Pay by cash or credit card on your way out. Debit can be used at the "Pay on Foot" machine on the 3rd level (before the pedway) as you enter the parkade. It will give you a ticket to insert at the gate on your way out.
  • Where to catch the free festival shuttle: Shuttle pick-up is located on the southwest corner of the parkade.
  • Where to catch the free shuttle heading back to MacEwan: The return shuttle pick-up is located at 107 Street and 99 Avenue. 

Road Detours

The following road closures will be in effect from July 14 to August 1:

  • Full closure of 99 Avenue, between 107 Street and 109 Street, starting from the Legislature parkade east entry

  • Full closure of 108 Street, from 99 Avenue to the Impark parking lot entrance

ETS Detours

In the heart of Downtown Edmonton, Capital Plaza is easily accessible by bus and LRT. Grandin/Government Centre LRT Station is located right on site, and a number of bus stops are just steps away from the festival site.

Please note: The bus stops on 99 Avenue, between 108 Street and 109 Street will be detoured from July 14 to August 1.

Parking Restrictions

A number of parking restrictions will be in effect during the festival. Please obey all signage, as tag and tow will be in effect. Festival-goers are encouraged to use transit, streetcar, and bike paths to access the festival site.
