The Muttart Conservatory has special drop-in programming that changes throughout the year.

Please note: The dates and times for Mornings at Muttart and Imagination Station have changed for 2023. Please note the new dates and times listed below.

Happy Hour at Muttart

Ages 18 years old and older
Wednesday evenings, 5-9pm

Facility admission applies.

In partnership with Cafe Bloom, we will be hosting Happy Hour at Muttart every Wednesday evening from 5-9pm.

Stop by Cafe Bloom for a Happy Hour beverage and enjoy it throughout the pyramids! Cafe Bloom often has musical performances in their cafe on Wednesday evenings.

Bring a group of friends and play games provided by Muttart on the patio or in Centre Court.

Please note: Wednesday evenings are ages 18+ only. Admission to Muttart is required to access the pyramids.

Imagination Station

Ages 5 and under (parent/guardian supervision required)

Daily
10am-3pm (later on some Thursdays)
Classroom 3

Facility admission applies.

Join us at the Muttart Conservatory Imagination Station to play, create and discover! This drop-in program is for children ages 5 years old and under, however it is accessible for children of any age. Equipment that encourages free play and loose parts play will be available for children to play and build with.

This program is not facilitated and parental or guardian supervision is required.

Mornings at Muttart

Ages 3-5 years (parent/guardian supervision required)

Monday-Friday
11am (for up to 30 minutes)
Classroom 3

Come join us in learning more about the world of plants and pyramids through fun activities such as reading books, sensory play, pyramid exploration, planting, crafts, games and more!

The Mornings at Muttart drop-in program is planned for 3 to 5 year old children, but is accessible for children of any age that would like to attend. Parental or guardian supervision is required to provide assistance with activities.

Orchid Talk

Ages 18 years old and older

Every third Wednesday of the month: January 18, February 15, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18, November 15, December 20

Join us and the Orchid Species Preservation Foundation to learn everything orchids! The Foundation has a different speaker every month to educate and promote awareness of the complexities and inter-dependencies of nature's organisms and the importance they play in maintaining a beautiful and healthy environment.

Guided Pyramid Tours

Join us every day for a guided tour of the arid, tropical and temperate pyramids.

Guided Pyramid Tours run 20 minutes and are led by knowledgeable interpreters that know all the details about the plants and species growing inside. Learn interesting facts about various plants from around the world and the climates they grow in!

Self-Guided Tours

If you are visiting during the week and can’t make it to a guided tour, or prefer to explore the pyramids at your own pace, you can access self-guided walking tours in each pyramid.

Take some time to stroll through the beautiful outdoor grounds at the Muttart Conservatory. We are located in Edmonton’s river valley with easy access to numerous walking trails and bike paths. On our grounds, you can view our numerous plant beds that are cared for by our horticultural team. We also showcase specialty beds that are cared for by the Edmonton Horticultural Society and the Edmonton Native Plant Council.
