John Walter Museum is open and free to the public every Sunday (March through November) and Saturdays (July through September) from 1-4pm but visitors can experience the history of Walterdale and the river valley all year round.

Located around the Museum are small monuments and colourful interpretive panels full of historic images. Public historian, Kathryn Ivany, developed a self-guided walking tour of Walterdale  – spend a day in the river valley looking for remnants of the past! Why not search for hidden geocaches at the same time? Note: some areas are not accessible during the Walterdale Bridge construction – see Geocaching for details.
