Location: City Hall Plaza (Outdoor)

Free parking will be available at the Library, Canada Place and City Hall parkades on Remembrance Day. Please note that the City Hall parkade opens at 10am and can only be accessed via the northbound lanes of 99 street on November 11.

Public washroom facilities can be found in the Centennial Pavilion on Sir Winston Churchill Square prior to 10am and inside City Hall after 10am.

Other Ways to Mark Remembrance Day

To honour the contributions of military personnel, both past and present, who have served in times of war and peace, Edmontonians are encouraged to observe this important day in other meaningful ways. This can be done by observing a private moment of reflection, making poppies to hang in your window, laying poppies at a local cenotaph or taking time to learn about Canada’s rich military history.

Remembrance Day at Municipal Cemeteries

There are no ceremonies at Edmonton’s Municipal Cemeteries on Remembrance Day, however, they may serve as places for calm and quiet reflection.

ETS Remembrance Day Service

On November 11, travel on Edmonton Transit is free for veterans and active members who are in military uniform or legion dress, with a Canadian Forces or RCMP identification card, or with a Veterans' card or National Defence Record card identifying the individual as past or current military personnel.

On this day, ETS buses will operate on Saturday schedules. ETS will also participate in Remembrance Day by recognizing a moment of silence at 11am on November 11. The entire system, including buses, DATS, and trains will stop at 11am for one minute to pay special tribute to all Canadian Veterans, if it is safe to do so.

DATS will operate on a holiday schedule on Remembrance Day. The Client Services Centre will be closed and subscription bookings will be cancelled. If you still require a subscription booking on this day, call 780-496-4567 (option 2) to book.

Check the ETS Trip Planner, call 311 or use real-time tools (Transit app, Google Maps) for complete route and schedule details.
