Pottery Studio for Seniors @ ACT 60+

Are you an experienced potter looking for studio time to improve your skills? Pottery Studio for Seniors provides a supportive and friendly studio environment to individuals who have taken many classes and are familiar with pottery studio practices and procedures. Students will need to purchase their own medium fire cone 6 clay but glazes and firing are included. All studio users need to purchase their own clay from Plainsman Pottery. It must be cone 6.

Learn the basics of pottery - how to hand build, use the wheel and glaze. Specific instructor lead projects plus individual artistic expression are encouraged. Our goal is to teach you about the joys and challenges of working with clay, with secondary emphasis on the finished product. All supplies, glazing and firing costs included.

Use your imagination and the pottery wheel to make artwork that is functional and beautiful. A set of pottery tools for $20 is required but clay and glazing are provided. A basic set of pottery tools needs to be purchsed for $20. Your instructor will discuss this kit on the first day of class.

Take your clay skills to the next level by learning how to throw, decorate and glaze porcelain-like clay. While the process is the same, your projects will be lighter, finer and more translucent.
