Rundle Park IceWay is now closed for the season.

Rundle Park, located on the north bank of the river in the city’s northeast, has a wide range of features and facilities for users to enjoy. Sports fields, multi-use trails, picnic sites and a  golf course to name a few. It is also home to toboggan hills and an IceWay in the winter.

The City maintains toboggan hills at several locations with safe run-outs, safety signage and reduced hazards.

Skaters can use public outdoor ice skating surfaces in major parks or Community Leagues.

Check Conditions Before Visiting

With over 2 km of ice, the Rundle Park IceWay features a shinny surface and skating rink. It’s connected to picnic shelters.

Picnic Sites

The Government of Alberta has released a schedule for the reopening of recreation activities, which includes limited outdoor gatherings. But at this time, we will be delaying our March 1st reservation opening date for the River Valley Picnic sites. Until further notice, all picnic sites will remain open only for first-come, first-served use.

Picnic Site Details

Rundle Park has 6 picnic sites available for reservation during the summer. The park also has 23 picnic tables available for drop-in (no fee) use. Additionally, reservation site tables that aren't reserved in advance can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.
