The City offers a variety of music courses for adults including; guitar, hand drumming, piano, poetry for a song and ukulele.

Music: Guitar 1

From beginner to professional level, the foundation of guitar playing is learning the 15 basic chords that are the 20% of the knowledge used 80% of the time. Working together in a group we'll learn these chords and organize them into 5 related families. This course is designed to get you quickly on your way to having fun playing your guitar.

This class introduces B minor, F barre chords, 4- and 5- chord songs using the Nashville number system; finger picking, scale patterns and how to use them to play melodies. The ukulele is considered the easiest stringed instrument to play. It is small, compact and easy to learn. Just four strings and an incredible range of chords, but only a few that you need to learn to get going. Learn how to hold, strum and tune a ukulele. Fun fact Neil Young started playing on ukulele first. Instruments not provided.
