Junior Group Golf Lessons
The 2017 junior group golf lessons will be based on the Acura Future Links model. The Future Links program works in alignment with the long term player development program to expose junior golfers to age / stage appropriate content. As they progress through each stage of the program, junior golfers will need to demonstrate that they have reached certain benchmarks in order to advance to the next stage. Each stage will focus on competencies such as fitness and health, life skills and of course improving golf ability.
The three stages offered by the City of Edmonton are:
- ORANGE - During this stage, kids will develop their ABC’S (agility, balance, coordination and speed). Children will continue to master fundamental movements and begin to focus on golf-specific skills.
- BLUE - In this stage, lessons introduce all sport skills, continue with the mastery of fundamental movement skills and place a heavier emphasis on golf-specific skills. This stage also emphasizes the development of speed and mobility.
- BLACK - In this stage, the focus shifts to increasing the consistency of golf specific skills through coordination and fine motor control.
Golf lesson programs of all stages are available beginning in May. For a full list of dates and times, and a helpful guide to help you choose the correct level for your children, please visit www.rvjgc-e.ca.
