Quesnell Bridge Construction Traffic Updates
Construction on the Quesnell Bridge, Whitemud Drive and Fox Drive is now in high gear. There may be periodic lane closures as crews strive to complete work on the many aspects of the project. Please keep in mind that the reduced speeds and traffic shifts may result in delays, particularly during peak hours when traffic volume is at its heaviest.Road Access, Closures and Detours
In order to accommodate bridge deck construction on the west side of the Quesnell Bridge, the Fox Drive westbound ramp onto Whitemud Dr. westbound will be totally closed from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14 until the end of November, reducing traffic over the bridge to two lanes in either direction for the duration of deck pours.
Motorists are advised to detour using 122 St. to Whitemud Dr. To avoid congestion, use Anthony Henday Drive, Stony Plain Road or Groat Road.
Information about road access, closures and detours is available 24/7 from the Roads & Traffic Updates Calendar.

The drop off/pick up points are on Fox Drive at the Fort Edmonton Park entrance and on Laurier Drive at 142 A Street. The shuttle runs every half hour between 7am and 7pm, seven days a week until November 2010.
Laurier – Quesnell Footbridge Closure
July 5 – September 30
The City of Edmonton will be closing the Laurier-Quesnell Footbridge from July 5 to September 30 for maintenance and rehabilitation work.
During that time, a shuttle bus will be available in the mornings from 7-10am and in the evenings from 4-7pm to enable pedestrians and cyclists to cross Whitemud Drive. Pickup and dropoff points will be located at each end of the footbridge. All users are advised to use the shuttle bus or find alternative routes during this period.
