Build Phase - Developer Arterial Projects
Once the design has been completed and approved for construction, the project then moves into the Build Phase. The projects in this section will be either awaiting the start of construction or construction is underway. Although the construction is carried out by the Developer, the City takes an active role in monitoring the work being completed to ensure that it adheres to the previously approved design plan and the City of Edmonton Design and Construction specifications.
25 Avenue
25 Avenue: Orchards Gate to Savryn Drive
Under ConstructionThe extent of this road construction is to construct the first 2 lanes of 25 Avenue from Orchards Gate to Savryn Drive to accommodate growth and increased traffic flows from future subdivision developments. The ACB (asphalt concrete base) is complete however the overlay, sidewalk and shared-use path will be completed in 2015.

The road construction from Cavanagh Drive to 111 Street has been completed. The remainder portion from 111 Street to Blackmud Creek is anticipated to be completed in the 2016 construction season.

34 Street
34 Street - 153 Avenue to 158 Avenue
(Storm Sewer Offsite Installation from 153 Avenue to 167 Avenue)
Under ConstructionThe extent of the roadway construction from 153 Avenue to north of 158 Avenue includes the reconstruction of 34 Street from a rural roadway to an urban collector standard. This entails the construction of a two lane each way roadway with curb and gutter, separate walk, transit bus stop pads and accesses.
The extent of the roadway construction from north of 158 Avenue to 167 Avenue includes the reconstruction of the rural roadway due to the installation of a storm sewer line that will connect to the McConachie Neighbourhood storm water infrastructure. This portion of the work has been completed.

41 Avenue SW: Blackmud Creek to James Mowatt Trail

The road is open to traffic. The remaining work includes the construction of the shared used path and landscaping.

Under ConstructionThe extent of this road construction is to construct 2 urbanized lanes of 50 Street from Ellerslie Road to 14 Avenue SW to accommodate growth and increased traffic flows from future subdivision developments.
This work is under construction. Lane closure is anticipated in 2015. Grading and underground work is currently in progress. The project is anticipated to be complete at the end of December 2015.

109 Ave - TUC to 205 Street
Under ConstructionThe extent of this road construction is to construct the first 2 lanes of 109 Avenue from the TUC to 205 Street to accommodate growth and increased traffic flows from future subdivision developments.
The underground installation at this intersection and intersection re-construction at 199 Street was completed by June 2015. The road has been paved. The work that is still required to be completed are the installation of the streetlights, bus pads and shared used path, This work is anticipated to be completed in the 2016 construction season.

CompletedThe extent of this road construction was to construct a southbound left turn bay on 156 Street, a multi-use trail on the east side of 156 Street from 137 Avenue to the north boundary of the subdivision, and a bus stop pad and connector sidewalk. This project is now complete.
