50 Street Over Sherwood Park Freeway Bridge Rehabilitation

Closure Notice - June 21, 2016

June 20, 2016 - Starting Tuesday, June 21 at 1am, 50 Street will be reduced to one lane southbound. Left turns will be prohibited on the bridge and detour route markers will be in place. Speed will be reduced to 50km/h. Argyll Road from 76 Avenue to Sherwood Park Freeway will also be reduced to one lane.

About the Project

The 50 Street over Sherwood Park Freeway bridge rehabilitation work is necessary to ensure that the bridge remains serviceable for the next 10-15 years until future modifications or replacement occurs.

Construction will take place April through August 2016.

  • Two-way traffic will be maintained on the bridge however the number of open lanes will be reduced for the duration of the project.
  • Selected turns from 50 Street onto Sherwood Park Freeway will be closed for the duration of the project.
  • Selected turns from the Sherwood Park Freeway eastbound and westbound off ramps on to 50 Street will be closed for the duration of the project.
  • There will be temporary lane closures on Sherwood Park Freeway during off peak hours.
