34 Avenue - Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard Intersections Milling & Paving

October 11, 2011 - Project Completed
- The paving of both the intersections on 34 Avenue at Calgary Trail and at Gateway Blvd. have been completed.
- Minor work, such as lane marking, is still to be completed however no disruptions to traffic will occur as a result of this.
About the Project
Rehabilitation is needed for the intersections at 34 Avenue and Calgary Trail and 34 Avenue and Gateway Boulevard. This work is scheduled to begin on October 5, 2011 and is expected to cause some traffic disruptions.
Both of these intersections see a large volume of traffic daily so the majority of the rehabilitation work will take place during non-peak hours. The posted speed limit for traffic moving along Calgary Trail and Gateway Blvd. will be reduced as will the number of lanes that will be open. For the duration of the construction, the section of 34 Avenue from Calgary Trail to Gateway Blvd will be closed.
Traffic Impacts:
During the construction period, 34 Avenue will be closed between Calgary Trail and Gateway Boulevard. Eastbound and westbound traffic on 34 Avenue will be permitted to make a right turn only at Calgary Trail and at Gateway Boulevard. The hours of the construction and closures are below.
- Wednesday, October 5 - Friday, October 7
Nightly from 6pm - 6:30am for grinding. - Friday, October 7 at 6pm - Tuesday, October 11 at 6:30am for paving.
