127 Street Reconstruction - Project History
Construction Notice - April 22, 2016
Construction on 127 Street will take place between May and October 2016. See map below for construction staging.
Stage One of construction started on Sunday, May 1:
- Both southbound lanes are closed and northbound traffic is reduced to one lane for the next three months
- Detour using 121 Street or St. Albert Trail
- All bus stops on 127 Street are closed until October 2016. See www.takeETS.com for detour information and schedules
- Free shuttle (route 398) through Sherbrooke and Prince Charles started running April 24
Please Note: Traffic barriers across 124 Street at 123 Avenue will remain in place as part of the Prince Charles Community Traffic Management Plan. The implications of reinstating 124 Street as a detour, even temporarily, are significant for Prince Charles, as it would see a return of 4000-6000 vehicles per day, as well as additional detour traffic adjacent to the neighbourhood park and residential properties during the summer months when more people are out and about.
- Please detour using St. Albert Trail, 121 Street, 142 Street, 149 Street and 97 Street.
- Street signs are in place to direct parents to the three schools in the area during construction.
