Tree Planting - June 2016

As part of the Great Neighbourhoods Capital Program in Delton, contractors will be in your area planting trees on City property. You will have already seen some flags/survey markings and personnel doing field visits. Please do not remove these flags or markings.

Tree planting is expected to occur in June/July 2016.

About the Project

The Building Great Neighbourhoods initiative involves:

  • Renewal and replacement of sanitary and storm sewers.
  • Coordination of utility repairs (ATCO, EPCOR).
  • Reconstruction of roads, curbs and sidewalks on City-owned property and replacement of streetlights.
  • Working with residents to identify improvements to pedestrian and cycling accessibility.
  • Consulting with residents to identify capital improvements on City-owned property that will enhance livability.

Reconstruction is funded by a combination of provincial dollars and a Neighbourhood Renewal Program tax levy.

Where We Are Today

Neighbourhood reconstruction in Delton began on April 16, 2013. The scope of work scheduled for 2013-14 will involve replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and streetlights, and reconstruction and paving of the roads. Alley renewal is not part of neighbourhood reconstruction.
