Regional Information

ETS provides transit service within the city boundaries (except for Fort Saskatchewan, Edmonton Garrison and Spruce Grove). The City of St. Albert operates local bus service within the city of St. Albert and commuter bus service to and from various locations within the city of Edmonton. Strathcona County operates local bus service within Sherwood Park and regional bus service within Strathcona County and the city of Edmonton.

Leduc C-Line Transit Service

On Friday, October 8, 2010, Edmonton Transit received correspondence from Alberta Transportation that the City of Edmonton would be granted an operating authority certificate to operate commuter bus service under contract to the City of Leduc and Leduc County. The amount of the contract is designed to cover ETS operating costs for the service.

As a regional service, this route operates under the authority of both the Province of Alberta and the City of Edmonton.. Please note the following requirements:
  • The C-Line is operated by the City of Leduc. Edmonton Transit fare products are not valid on C-Line service, but may be used once you arrive in Edmonton; C-Line passes are only valid on C-Line buses, not  on ETS service. As a service to transit customers, both ETS and C-Line bus passes are available for purchase in Leduc.
  • All passenger luggage* must be placed on the seat or on the floor in front of the seat.  No passenger luggage will be allowed in the aisle.
  • Passengers are responsible for handling their own luggage.  Bus Operators will not assist any passenger with luggage movement.
  • Provincial requirements dictate that the Bus Operator will not move the bus if there is passenger luggage in the aisle.
  • Provincial requirements state that the maximum standing load on a bus is 25 standees.
  • First come / first served process is in operation for the service. Passengers already on board with their luggage on the seats or on the floor in front of the seats are not required to move their luggage to accommodate additional passengers.  However, please be considerate of fellow passengers.  When you are able to put personal belongings on your lap then please do so in order to accommodate additional passengers.
  • Edmonton Transit is not responsible for lost passenger luggage.  Call 780-496-1622 for Lost/Found.
*passenger luggage includes: suitcases, backpacks, boxes, bags and any other carrying device for the transport of personal belongings.


St. Albert Transit Service

The City of St. Albert operates local bus service within the City of St. Albert and commuter bus service to and from various locations within the City of Edmonton. Service operates Monday to Sunday.

Effective February 1, 2012
St. Albert Transit Fares

When traveling on ETS service: St. Albert “Commuter” passes, tickets and valid transfers are accepted on ETS service (St. Albert tickets are not valid for LRT travel). St. Albert “Local” passes, tickets and transfers are not valid on ETS service.

When traveling within Edmonton: All ETS fare products are valid on St. Albert service traveling within Edmonton.

When traveling locally within St. Albert: All ETS fare product, except the Seniors Monthly Pass and the Courtesy Pass, may be used with the payment of a $1.00 surcharge. (Note: ETS DATS Passes are not valid on St. Albert DATS service.)

When traveling from one community to another:  

  1. All ETS period passes (i.e. day passes, monthly passes, annual passes) except the Seniors Monthly Pass and the Courtesy Pass, may be used for cross-boundary travel on St. Albert service with the payment of a $1.00 surcharge. 
  2. ETS tickets and valid transfers may be used for cross-boundary travel on St. Albert service with the payment of a $2.00 surcharge.

Strathcona County (Sherwood Park) Transit Service

Strathcona County operates local bus service within Sherwood Park and regional bus service within Strathcona County and the City of Edmonton. Service operates Monday to Sunday.

Strathcona County Transit Fares

When traveling on ETS service: Strathcona “Commuter” passes, tickets and valid transfers are accepted on ETS bus service (tickets are valid for bus service only, not for LRT travel). Strathcona “Local” passes, tickets and transfers are not valid on ETS service.

When traveling within Edmonton: All ETS fare products are valid on Strathcona service traveling within Edmonton.

When traveling locally within Sherwood Park: All ETS fare product, except the Seniors Monthly Pass and the Courtesy Pass, may be used with the payment of a $1.00 surcharge. (Note: ETS DATS Passes are not valid on Strathcona DATS service.)

When traveling from one community to another

  1. All ETS period passes (i.e. day passes, monthly passes, annual passes) except the Seniors Monthly Pass and the Courtesy Pass, may be used for cross-boundary travel on Strathcona service with the payment of a $1.00 surcharge.

Edmonton Garrison Transit Service

ETS operates the Route 199 commuter bus service between the Edmonton Garrison and Edmonton. Service operates Monday to Friday.

Regular ETS fares apply, except for local trips within the Garrison and Lancaster Park which cost $1.00 cash.

The Route 199 is included in the ETS Trip Planner, allowing commuters to coordinate their travel planning with other ETS routes.


Fort Saskatchewan Transit Service

ETS operates the Route 198 commuter bus route providing service between Fort Saskatchewan and Edmonton.

ETS buses offer peak hour commuter transit service to and from Fort Saskatchewan and the Clareview LRT (Light Rail Transit) station in northeast Edmonton. Service operates Monday to Friday.

ETS fare products (passes, ticket, DATS passes and transfers) are not valid on Fort Saskatchewan service. Regular ETS fare will be required to continue travel on Edmonton Transit once you arrive within Edmonton, unless the "integrated pass" is purchased.

Spruce Grove Transit Service

ETS operates the Route 197 commuter bus route providing service between Spruce Grove and Edmonton, under contract with the City of Spruce Grove.

ETS buses travel through the community, stopping at a number of bus stops and travel express between Spruce Grove and Edmonton. Service operates Monday to Friday, peak hours only.

ETS fare products (passes, tickets, DATS passes and transfers) are not valid on Spruce Grove service. Regular ETS fare will be required to continue travel on ETS once you arrive within Edmonton.
