  • Take the LRT to the Grandin/Government Centre Station. Walk through the pedway, following the ceiling signs to Government Centre will bring you to the Legislature.

Art Gallery of Alberta

Located at 2 Sir Winston Churchill Square (99 Street and 102A Avenue)

The new Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is an 85,000 square foot premier presentation venue for international and Canadian art, education and scholarship. The new AGA is a centre of excellence for the visual arts in Western Canada in the 21st century, expressing the creative spirit of Alberta and connecting people, art and ideas.

Edmonton City Hall

Located between 99 Street and 100 Street on 102A Avenue

Open in 1992, Edmonton's City Hall combines modern architecture with elements from the old City Hall it replaced (built in the ‘50s). Features include a glass pyramid top as well as a soaring friendship tower that has a 18,000 kg (40,000 pound), 23-bell carillon that can play up to 99 melodies. An expansive collection of art by Alberta artists is on display, and visitors are welcome at the many activities held there.

Citadel Theatre

The largest theatre complex in Canada, this major arts facility houses five theatres (Shoctor, Rice, Zeidler, the Maclab Theatre and Tucker Amphitheatre) as well as production facilities, restaurant and theatre school.

Shaw Conference Centre

  • If taking the LRT, go as far as Central Station walk approximately 2 blocks East on Jasper Avenue.
  • Leaving from West Edmonton Mall take the Route 1 or Route 2 to 97 Street and 102 Avenue giving you 2 blocks to walk South or take Route 100 to 97 Street and Jasper Avenue.
  • Leaving from Southgate Transit Centre, take the LRT to Central Station and walk approximately 2 blocks East on Jasper Avenue.
  • Leaving from Northgate Transit Centre take the Route 140 to 97 Street and 102A Avenue and walk 3 blocks South.
