Residential Parking Programs
About the Program
The Residential Parking Program was developed to manage the availability of parking in specific residential areas experiencing urban growth and increased visitor demand. The program does not eliminate non-resident or public parking and it does not guarantee residents an on-street parking space.
Program Conditions
To qualify for the program, the area must be at least ten square blocks. This requirement is in place so that the influx of non-resident parking does not shift to the adjacent roadways.
Annual Residential Parking Permits
Parking Permits are issued to vehicles registered to the resident's address. Residents must obtain a residential parking permit annually and display it in their vehicle when parking in the program area.
Visitor Parking Permits
Visitors of residents within a program area are required to follow all on-street parking regulations. They are not exempt from the designated parking restrictions when visiting a resident in a program area.
Temporary Residential Parking Permits
All Residential Parking Program area residents are eligible for temporary parking permits free of charge. Apply for a permit if you need temporary parking for renovations, out of town guests, seniors, people with disabilities or one-time social events like weddings or barbecues.
