Walkability Strategy Project
The Walkability Strategy guides the work of improving walkability in Edmonton.
The Walk Edmonton Report is a summary of the recommendations from the strategy.
In 2009, Edmonton City Council passed an Active Transportation Policy, C544.
The work of carrying out the Policy is largely defined by:
- The Sidewalk Strategy, which deals with pedestrian infrastructure
- The Walkability Strategy, which deals with improving many other aspects of walkability
- The Bicycle Transportation Plan Update which deals with both the infrastructure and other supports to cycling.
Together, these strategies will help Edmonton take big steps toward supporting and encouraging active transportation in Edmonton.
