Winter/Spring Maintenance Survey

The City is in the second year of a bike route maintenance pilot project on 106 Street. In March, a survey gathered feedback on winter snow clearance. Now, this survey asks about spring street cleaning of the bike route. We want to hear from you no matter whether you walk along, drive, or bike on 106 Street.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the survey or if you prefer to complete a paper copy, please contact us at:

About the Pilot Project

Bike Route Maintenance Pilot Map

The 106 Street bike route, between 29 Avenue and Saskatchewan Drive, includes a variety of bike infrastructure including dedicated bike lanes, buffered bike lanes, and shared-use lanes. Parking options vary from section to section. This variety makes 106 Street an ideal route as a pilot project.

The maintenance target for the 106 Street Bike Route, is to maintain a minimum one-metre wide clear zone for the bike lane along this route throughout the winter, and to monitor the effectiveness of an additional spring sweeping cycle for this bike route. The goal of this pilot project is to gather information and assess the success of the maintenance schedule. Once the pilot project is complete, lessons learned and information gathered will be applied where possible, to a bike lane maintenance plan for the entire Priority Bicycle Network.
