This contest is open to City of Edmonton residents, who are 18 years of age or older and sign up to receive a Go Bagless’ lawn sign, or confirm that they already have a sign and will place it on their lawn.
How do I enter the “Go Bagless Lawn Sign” contest?
- Sign up at edmonton.ca/gobagless to receive a Go Bagless lawn sign or to indicate that you already have a sign and will place it on your lawn
- Fill out a Go Bagless lawn sign request form with a City of Edmonton Go Bagless canvasser (either at your door or at various community and City events)
Contest Time Period
Contest begins at 9am MDT on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 and ends at midnight MDT on Friday, August 19, 2016.
Entries must be received before midnight MDT on Friday, August 19, 2016.
How is a winner chosen?
Contestants who complete the entry form will be included in a randomized draw.
The winner will be announced Monday, August 22, 2016. Winners will be contacted via the email address provided on the entry form. If no response is received by September 30, 2016, the prize will be forfeited.
Winners are responsible for picking up their prize from the reception desk of Utility Services which is located at 9803-102A Avenue, 2nd floor, Century Place, Edmonton, Alberta. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8am-12noon and 1pm-4:30pm. The prize must be claimed by the actual winner with proof of identification by 4:30pm on September 30, 2016.
In order to win the prize, contestants must:
- Be 18 years of age or over
- Be a resident of the City of Edmonton
- Have government-issued ID
- Sign a consent/release form
- Answer a skill testing question in order to receive their prize
- Not be an employee of the Communications and Public Engagement Department or the Utility Services Branch
Chances of winning
The chances of winning are dependent on the number of entries received.
What do I get if I win?
The winner will receive their choice of the following two prizes:
- 1 TORO Super Recycler Mulching Mower (Approximate retail value of $920)
- 1 City of Edmonton Attractions and Recreation Gift Card* ($750 value)
*An Attractions and Recreation Gift Card can be redeemed at any of these participating recreation centres and attractions: Muttart Conservatory, Edmonton Valley Zoo, John Janzen Nature Centre,Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre, Clareview Community Recreation Centre, The Meadows Community Recreation Centre, Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre, Kinsmen Sports Centre, City of Edmonton Recreation Centres, Outdoor Pools, City Arts Centre, Golf Courses.
Gift Cards cannot be redeemed at facilities that are closed for the season. Gift Cards can be used towards: single admissions and multi, monthly and annual passes, registered programs and lessons, golf green fees, facility rentals fees.
Gift cards are not valid for food or beverage purchases, pro shops, the Edmonton Valley Zoo gift store, purchasing attractions tickets online, or registering for programs online or by phone. Gift cards are nonrefundable. Lost or stolen cards will not be replaced.
Protecting Your Personal Information and Contest information
- This information is being collected by the City under the authority of section 33(c) of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act, and will be used for purposes related to the administration of the Go Bagless contest and for promotional purposes. Your photo and name may also be distributed to the media. Personal information in the custody or under the control of the City is protected in accordance with the privacy provisions of FOIP. - The winning contestant may be asked to participate in promotional and/or media activities. As a result, photos and digital images of the winning contestant may be used in local news media, on this site and other official City of Edmonton publications.
