Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Recycling
The C&D Facility, based at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, offers an environmentally friendly and convenient way to recycle construction materials. There are two options: mixed C&D recycling or segregated C&D recycling.
Mixed C&D recycling
Mixed loads of material are diverted from landfill and either sold to recycling processors or used in the City's operations. Mixed loads should consist primarily of the following materials:
- wood
- metal
- drywall
- cardboard
- paper
- ceramics
- plastics
- asphalt/concrete*
* maximum dimension of 80 cm, no heavy reinforcing steel
Loads must not contain asbestos. Please dispose of paint, adhesives, solvents and other hazardous materials at an approved facility for commercial waste.
