Aggregate Recycling

The City recycles concrete and asphalt from household renovations, reconstruction projects and private demolition. This free service provides an economical source of aggregates that are used to build and maintain the City's roadways.

Aggregate Facilities

Acceptable Materials

Cost: Free

Materials will be inspected to ensure they don’t exceed the maximum sizes and are free of contaminants.

  • Hardened, plastic and reinforced concrete
  • Concrete truck washouts (summer season only)
  • Asphalt and asphalt grindings
  • Gravel
  • Soil cement
  • Bricks and paving stones
  • Coarse and clean sand
  • Mesh-free rebar
  • Parking lot sweepings (Horse Hills location)

Materials Not Accepted

Any materials that are contaminated, exceed the maximum size, or are listed here you can take to the Edmonton Waste Management Centre.

Materials are inspected so you can be directed to the right location in the centre.
