South Edmonton Public Consultations
There were 532 homes flooded during the 2004 rainstorms in South Edmonton Communities including Keheewin, Ermineskin, Steinhauer, Duggan, Rideau Park, Empire Park, Royal Gardens, Aspen Gardens, Westbrook Estates, Greenfield, and Sweet Grass.
The City investigated and set up improvement plans for these neighbourhoods.

Subsidy Program
For homeowners who have experienced basement flooding or whose dwellings were built before 1989, Drainage Planning and Engineering has a subsidy program to assist homeowners financially to install a backwater valve. For more information, refer to the Backwater Valve Subsidy Program.
