Canadian Avalanche Association - The CAC creates a way for federal and provincial government agencies, the private sector, and not for profit organizations to collaborate by focusing resources and expertise to develop and deliver public avalanche safety programs.
Canadian Bomb Data Centre - The CBDC makes information available to businesses and individuals to help them develop response plans and procedures in case they receive a bomb threat or suspicious mail.
Canadian Standards Association Z1600 - This new voluntary Canadian Standard incorporates a risk-based, all hazards approach that integrates emergency management and business continuity for a total program approach, providing both opportunity and rationale for collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
FIRESCOPE - FIRESCOPE (FIrefighting RESources of California Organized for Potential Emergencies) is a cooperative effort involving all agencies with fire fighting responsibilities in California. Provides information and resources on Incident Command System and supporting documentation.
FIRESMART - This interactive manual provides individuals with the necessary tools in planning and in mitigating the risk of fire in interface areas.
Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction - ICLR is a research institute. Established by Canada’s property and casualty insurers, they work to reduce disaster losses.
Non-Government Organizations
Canadian Red Cross - Canadian Red Cross helps people affected by emergencies and disasters – situations ranging from a house fire to a flood that disrupts an entire region of the country. Following a disaster, Red Cross works with governments and other humanitarian organizations to provide for people's basic needs – food, clothing, shelter, first aid, emotional support and family reunification. The specific services offered would be based on the community's needs and the role that Red Cross has in the local disaster response plan.
Salvation Army – Emergency Disaster Services - Often assigned a specific role by Emergency Preparedness authorities, such as counselling, registration and identification, transportation, emergency housing, feeding or clothing, The Salvation Army is well equipped to handy any demands made of it in a disciplined and resourceful manner.
Amateur Radio Emergency Service – Edmonton ARES is composed of licensed radio amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment for communications duty in the public service, when disaster strikes.
St John Ambulance - St John Ambulance - Improving Canadian's health and safety through training and community service.

Alberta – Occupational Health and Safety - Emergency Preparedness and Response regulations and tools that apply to Sections 115, 117 and 118 of the OH&S Code and Section 8 of the OH&S Regulation. They are designed to assist Ministries in the application of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Alberta Emergency Management Agency - The provincial emergency management agency.
Alberta Health Services - Capital Health Region - Capital Health has established an Office of Emergency Preparedness, and has adopted an incident management structure – matching the models already adopted by the City of Edmonton, industry and the Province.

Public Safety Canada - Public Safety Canada is dedicated to minimizing a continuum of risks to Canadians -- from risks to personal safety from crime or naturally occurring events such as severe blizzards, floods or forest fires, to threats to national security from terrorist activity.
Health Canada - Emergency Preparedness - Health Canada's role in an emergency, whether it's a natural disaster or human caused, is to protect the health of Canadians. This site will help the public understand how Health Canada is organized to protect Canadians, how they work with others and what they will do during an emergency to protect Canadians and to help manage an international or global situation.
National Search and Rescue - The National Search and Rescue Secretariat (NSS) acts as a liaison for Search and Rescue (SAR) agencies and all partners involved in Canadian search and rescue.

Federal Emergency Management Agency – United States - The Federal Emergency Management Agency - a former independent agency that became part of the new Department of Homeland Security in March 2003 - is tasked with responding to, planning for, recovering from and mitigating against disasters.
Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management – United States - This publication features original, innovative, and timely articles and other information describing research or practice. The journal is a focal point for providing new information and understanding of emergency management (EM) in the homeland security (HS) environment and hopes to foster a community of persons who share these interests.

Edmonton Area Pipeline and Utility Operators’ Committee - The Edmonton Area Pipeline and Utility Operators' Committee (EAPUOC) is a not-for-profit, non-statutory, voluntary membership association engaged in activities to encourage and promote safety around buried pipelines and cables. EAPUOC also acts as a communication network to keep members in touch during emergencies.
Northeast Region Community Awareness and Emergency Response - (NR CAER) - Northeast Region CAER is a partnership of more than 40 community-minded industries, municipalities, chemical transporters and government agencies dedicated to emergency response and education initiatives in the industrial region northeast of Edmonton.
Energy Resource Conservation Board - Regulates the safe, responsible, and efficient development of Alberta's energy resources: oil, natural gas, oil sands, coal, and electrical energy; and the pipelines and transmission lines to move the resources to market.
National Energy Board - The National Energy Board is an independent federal agency that regulates several aspects of Canada's energy industry. Alberta – Upstream Petroleum Incident Support Plan - The purpose of the Upstream Petroleum Incident Support Plan is to provide a framework to direct and coordinate how the government and the private sector will respond to a serious upstream petroleum industry incident.

Environment Canada – Environmental Emergencies Program, Information Resources - The Environmental Emergencies program is responsible for the prevention of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from environmental emergencies. The program is delivered centrally through the Environmental Emergencies Branch located in Gatineau, Quebec and via 5 regional offices located across Canada (Halifax, Montréal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver).
