Program Details
The Commemorative Tree Program can include any special event. Examples include: births, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, memorials, etc.
Our suggestions of Common Tree Species can help you find the right tree for your commemorative planting.
Locations for planting may include all City and District level parks with the exception of Hawrelak Park. Neighbourhood parks, ornamental areas and community league sites may also be considered if requested but may not receive regular maintenance.
How the City Helps
A City of Edmonton urban forester will assist you with:
- Determining the site location in the chosen park.
- Determining if your choice of tree is appropriate for the location.
The City of Edmonton will provide a one-time production and installation of a 7.5 cm x 15 cm (3 inch by 6 inch) bronze plaque on an exposed aggregate pedestal.
The City of Edmonton will manage any subsequent replacement and maintenance of trees supplied and installed by the City. Sorry, we do not replace lost or damaged plaques.

For $1,300 a tree is supplied and planted and a bronze plaque with an exposed aggregate pedestal is supplied and installed.
