Mount Pleasant Cemetery Construction
The City of Edmonton is beginning preparations in order to offer a new outdoor columbarium at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Many people prefer the idea of being interred above ground while still being outside in nature. The outdoor columbarium niche is the perfect choice for these individuals. Construction is scheduled to start mid-September 2013 and is anticipated to be complete in 2014. For more information about the columbarium construction, please call 311.
The City of Edmonton respects the dignity of all those we serve. To ensure the safety of monuments situated in the construction zone, a number of monuments are being removed, packaged for protection and stored in a secure location. All monuments will be re-installed in their original location once construction is complete. The removal only affects monuments – all graves remain intact.
