Indoor Niche
There are two beautiful buildings within the City Cemeteries that house the indoor niches. The first is the Cathedral of Memories, located at Edmonton Cemetery and the second is at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
The Cathedral of Memories
The Mausoleum is a handsome stone structure built in a classic Greek Doric architectural style, and is located in the north-central area of the north side of the Edmonton Cemetery. It adds a stately appearance to the Cemetery, and has allowed for a creative circular arrangement of plots directly in front of its doors. Inside, directly in the centre of the upper floor, there is a simple chapel where committal services can take place. The interior also features cathedral stained-glass windows. The Mausoleum has appropriately been called a “Cathedral of Memorials”, for its polished marble and graceful design creates an atmosphere of grandeur and peace.
The Cathedral of Memories, which houses both the niches and crypts, are highly popular and availability is limited. Although most of the niches and crypts have been sold, they are instances when the niche or crypt is exchanged for different burial options, making them available periodically.
The niches range in price from $3,100 to $8,000 dependent on the level, monument type and number of possible interments in the location.
Niche packages include:

- Memorialization (appropriate for niche style)
- Anniversary opening for cleaning / decorating. Anniversary opening cannot be redeemed for cash or other services.
- Access key or card - for building access.
The Mount Pleasant Indoor Niche Building
A new addition to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in 2004, this two story niche building currently has niches available on the first floor. The second floor phase will be completed in the next 10 to 15 years.
The interior is warm and inviting. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a fireplace, waterfall, comfortable seating and beautiful marble niches, some with glass fronts that offer a tranquil place to visit departed loved ones. A beautiful final resting place for
cremated remains.
The niches range in price from $4,400 to $11,500 dependent on level, monument type and number of possible interments in the location.
