Facility Tours
Edmonton Waste Management Centre
Come tour the world-famous Edmonton Waste Management Centre. With its unique collection of advanced recycling and composting facilities, it’s been called “the ultimate waste theme park.” Discover how recyclables get sorted, how old computers get recycled and how your garbage gets turned into compost or methanol.
When: Any group of ten or more can book tour for any available time. Individuals or smaller groups can go on public tours held every Friday at 9am and 12:30pm.
Duration: 2 hours
To book: Reservations are required. Call 780-496-6879.
Please note: Tours are not recommended for children younger than 9-years old.

Visit the Reuse Centre to see how everyday items get a chance at a second life, through the generous donations of Edmonton residents. Reuse tips and tricks guaranteed to inspire. Tours are suitable for ages 6 and older.

It's true! With Edmonton’s world-leading waste management system, hardly anything is truly garbage any more. You can reuse it, recycle it, compost it, grasscycle it, and Eco Station it… and soon the rest will be turned into biofuel! Let us tell you about it, and learn how residents can help Edmonton get to 90% waste diversion from landfill.
