Family & Community Support Services Grant
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a joint municipal/provincial partnership that funds preventive social service programs that enhance the well-being of individuals, families and communities.
Programs receiving FCSS funding must be registered non-profit organizations that have been incorporated for a minimum of 1 year.
The provincial Family and Community Services Act sets out the basic eligibility for program funding detailed in the FCSS Handbook.
The City, with the assistance of the Citizen Services Advisory Board (CSAB), identifies priorities for FCSS funding annually on the basis of current social planning and demographic information.
FCSS does not fund programs that:
- Provide primarily for the recreation needs or leisure pursuits of individuals
- Offer direct financial assistance, including money, food, clothing or shelter to an individual, or family
- Are primarily rehabilitative
- Duplicate services ordinarily provided by a government or government agency
Apply
If your funding expires on December 31, 2016, the deadline to apply for 2017 funding is Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 4:00pm.
The purpose of the application is to ensure that funding requests meet the eligibility criteria and address the FCSS Guiding Principles and Priorities.
How to Apply
Deadline for Application: Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 4pm.
- Complete the 2017 FCSS Application, including all the attachments.
- Complete the 2017 FCSS Budget Form.
- If your organization also wishes to apply for the 2017 Community Investment Operating Grant, please also submit the 2017 CIOG Application – Part B. Important: Please read the CIOG eligibility requirements to ensure your organization is eligible for the grant.
- Scan and email your completed Application, all attachments, and Budget Form to grants@edmonton.ca by Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 4pm. Applications received by the deadline will receive an email acknowledging receipt.
