Waste and Recycling in Edmonton
This presentation is for newcomer organizations, ESL (English as a Second Language) classes, or any community groups with limited English skills. Explore Edmonton’s great waste management system. Learn what to recycle, what goes in the garbage and what items to take to an Eco Station. We will discuss the world-famous Edmonton Waste Management Centre and how the City is making compost and fuel from your garbage.

The Edmonton Waste Management Centre (EWMC)
Come see the world-famous Edmonton Waste Management Centre. With its unique collection of advanced recycling and composting facilities, it’s been called “the ultimate waste theme park.” Discover how recyclables get sorted, organic waste is turned into compost, e-waste is recycled, and waste is converted into methanol and ethanol.
When: offered Monday to Friday, year-round

The Reuse Centre: 6835 - 83 Street
Visit the Reuse Centre to see how everyday items get a chance at a second life, through the generous donations of Edmonton residents. Reuse tips and tricks guaranteed to inspire. Tours are suitable for ages 6 and older.
