The excitement is building as the Edmonton Oilers begin their 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs run. Whether you’re out on the town or cheering from home, remember to enjoy the action safely and responsibly.

Find everything you need to know before you head out to join the playoffs action in the 2024 Oilers Playoffs Event Guide.

Here are a few things to remember if you are attending the games in person, or heading out to watch the game at one of our city’s fabulous bars and eateries.

Getting to Rogers Place

Downtown Arena

Find everything you need to know when planning your trip to Rogers Place.

Ford Tailgate Party and Scotiabank Fan Park

The Ford Tailgate Party in ICE District Plaza and the Scotiabank Fan Park will open:

90 minutes before puck drop on home game days
60 minutes before puck drop during away games

Admission to these outdoor venues in ICE District is free, and will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Enjoy pre- and post-game entertainment including DJs, live music, food and beverages as you watch the game on giant outdoor screens. Fans of all ages are welcome.

Molson Hockey House in Ford Hall will be open for home games 2 hours before puck drop. Adults 18+ are welcome. Admission is free.

For away games, fans can attend one of the outdoor watch parties or purchase tickets for $5 to the Rogers Road Game Watch Party inside of Rogers Place. Tickets go on sale Monday April 22 at noon.

Bus and LRT Service

Heading out to watch the playoffs? Leave the driving to us! Multiple ETS bus routes, as well as Capital/Metro Line trains, serve Edmonton’s Downtown and provide service within walking distance of Rogers Place.

Riders are encouraged to plan ahead using the Trip Planner or real-time tools such as Google Maps.

Transit Fares and Arc

Regular fares apply on game days. Riders 12 years of age and under ride for free on bus and LRT service when with a fare-paying adult.

Riders can also use Arc – a convenient way to pay for and take transit. No need to deal with paper passes or exact change, as riders can simply tap on and off transit using an Arc card or single-use Arc ticket. Visit myArc.ca for more information.

Drop off, Pickup and Rideshare Areas

Rogers Place has several designated drop-off and pick-up locations for the general public, as well as rideshare locations. See the map.

Parking

Before you leave, check parking rates, hours, where you can park and how to pay.

Current MyEPark customers can continue to use the app until April 29, however, manual and auto top-up of funds features have been deactivated.

Starting on April 29, customers can pay for parking with the new mobile payment system by scanning a QR code posted on EPark machines or online. Find more information about the new mobile payment system.

Public Washrooms

There will be portable toilets in the Ford Tailgate Party in ICE District Plaza and the Scotiabank Fan Park. Find out more about public washrooms.

Road and Sidewalk Closures

Those heading downtown on game days are reminded that there may be significant traffic and pedestrian congestion in the city center on game nights. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible or seek alternate routes.

Lighting the City

The High Level Bridge will be lit in orange and blue for Game 1 of Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the pyramids of City Hall will be lit in orange on home game days. Additional city landmarks will be lit as the Oilers progress in the playoffs.
