Alex Decoteau Park

Drawing of proposed design for Alex Decoteau Park.

This design drawing for Alex Decoteau Park shows the proposed off-leash dog area that is part of the park plan.

The City of Edmonton is creating a small five-lot park on the northwest corner of 105 Street and 102 Avenue. The City has begun detailed design work for the park in close consultation with the Downtown Edmonton Community League.

The park will provide a green space that may be flexibly programmed for a variety of uses, including passive relaxation, community gardening, and small gatherings.

Construction will take place in 2016.

In September 2014, the City of Edmonton Naming Committee decided that the park would be named for Alex Decoteau, an athlete, a soldier, and Canada's first aboriginal police officer.
