Community Consultation

Development will not occur without public involvement. In fact, part of the criteria in selecting builders is the public consultation expertise and experience those builders have with existing communities. Prior to development in any community, residents will have the opportunity through their community leagues to participate and provide feedback on the builders design to ensure new homes fit into the existing communities.

The photo gallery below reflects some of the public consultation activity that occurred with the Greenview project. 

The City is also working to complete the location and configuration of the school site development envelopes for phase one communities and when completed, will share the information with communities and new home builders.

Once the community consultation process is complete the builder will submit applications for development permits followed by building permits; development and construction will commence thereafter upon approvals being granted.

The City will:

• Evaluate each phase of development upon its completion and use feedback to help develop subsequent phases of development.
• Remain open and responsive to new housing product, innovation and changes in the market as program implementation occurs.
• Select new home builders for the remaining 18 First Place sites through a competitive Request for Qualification process.
