Pets

Pets bring a community to life and are an important part of many Edmonton families. Pet ownership is regulated under the
Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw and the City of Edmonton's Animal Care & Control Centre works with pet owners to help ensure pets are a positive addition to the community.

Pet LicencesAll cats and dogs six months or older must have a valid pet licence. Pet licences are affordable and available online.
Restricted Dogs
There are certain dogs that tend to be more aggressive. It is not illegal to own a dog like this, but there are some additional regulations that apply.
