Fees and Financing

Starting January 1, 2010, monthly waste service fees for single family households will increase from $26.59 to $29.85. The monthly fee for multi-family units will increase from $17.29 to $19.40.

The main reason for the increase is the closure of the City's Clover Bar Landfill in 2009 and the need to construct new processing systems and haul waste to a distant landfill.

The fees support all waste services, including:

  • Waste Collection
  • Blue Bag and Blue Bin Collection
  • Eco Stations
  • Assisted Collection
  • Recycling Depots
  • Reuse Centre  
  • Big Bin Events 
  • Edmonton Waste Management Centre operations
