Big Bin Events

Big Bin Events allow residents to dispose of household items too large for regular collection at no cost.
Twelve of the weekend long events are held each year from Spring to Fall at various locations throughout the city.
The 2009 Big Bin Events, the most succesful to date, ended in late September. Approximately 2,103 tonnes of material - the equivalent weight of 161 ETS buses - was accepted at the 2009 events. Material that otherwise might have been improperly disposed of in the river valley, parks and neighbourhoods.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time at an event or simply participated by bringing down their unwanted large household waste items.
