Get Ready in the Park
Come and spend the day with us at Get Ready in the Park! Find out how you and your family can prepare for an emergency at this free and fun event, held every year during Emergency Preparedness Week.
Date: Saturday May 10, 2014
Time: 10am - 4pm
Location: Hawrelak Park
See the cockpit of a helicopter, get behind the wheel of a fire truck, practice a fire escape drill with your kids, or watch search and rescue dogs in action. There’s plenty to see, do and learn at Get Ready in the Park.
The City of Edmonton and members of the emergency response network have created this free, family-focused event to:
- Showcase Edmonton’s emergency community capabilities in response to a major emergency or incident
- Promote residents and businesses to be prepared for at least 72 hours in the event of a major emergency
- Provide information to help residents begin the recovery phase from a major emergency or incident
Look at the Get Ready in the Park Photo Gallery from previous years to see what kind of fun we had.
We encourage you share the event details with everyone you know through Facebook, Tweets, and any other social media. You can also download and share our poster for additional event details.
