Seniors on the Go Program

DATS offers a summer program each year called Seniors on the Go, which is designed to familiarize seniors with their public transit options to help them feel comfortable, confident, and safe using Edmonton Transit. Since the introduction of the program in 2007, this educational and interactive program has benefitted more than 4,000 people through over 60 residences, activity centres and senior’s groups.
Senior’s groups and organizations that have reasonable access to public transit service, and who have the ability to travel independently, will be provided with the opportunity to participate in a free hands-on learning session with Edmonton Transit to learn how to plan trips and travel to destinations in their vicinity. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the senior-friendly and accessible features of the transit system, find out about trip planning options and fares, receive instruction on use of ETS customer tools, and take a sample trip on transit to a local destination.
New applications for Seniors on the Go sessions will be available in May 2016.
