LRT Fan System Testing
On Saturday, March 14 until Monday, March 16, Edmonton Transit System (ETS) personnel will be testing the fan system in the downtown LRT tunnels near Bay, Corona and Grandin Stations during early morning hours.
- Saturday, March 14 from 1am - 4:30am.
- Sunday, March 15 from 9pm until 4:30am on Monday, March 16.
The testing is designed to measure the effectiveness of the fan system to remove smoke quickly and efficiently. ETS personnel will use special events fog to simulate smoke during the tests. Nearby residents and businesses may see fog coming out of the exhaust ventilation shafts near the stations and are advised this testing is a normal part of LRT operations and maintenance.
