Kingsway/Royal Alex LRT Station

Kingsway/Royal Alex is one of three stations on the Metro LRT Line, serving Central and Northwest Edmonton. The station features two seasonally heated waiting areas and offers clear sightlines along with a simple platform layout to enhance accessibility, comfort, and safety.

Health care services were a top priority when building the station, which is just next to the Royal Alexandra Hospital on the north side of Kingsway at 105 Street.

The Kingsway/Royal Alex transit centre opened in June 2014 next to the station and integrates bus and LRT service. This LRT station has surface access at both ends of the platform.

Kingsway/Royal Alex Station primarily serves:

• Residents of surrounding neighbourhoods
• Hospital patients, staff, and visitors
• Kingsway and Kingsway Mall businesses and patrons
• Businesses and patrons along Kingsway
• Victoria School students and staff
• Centre for Education staff

The LRT operates at street level on the Metro LRT line. The TraXSafe program offers safety tips and information on what to be aware of when traveling on or near the train tracks.
